Council Meeting 8/11/2025
The work session started off with the Year Ended June 30, 2024 Audit Report from Green, Finney, and Cauley. LLP. (Here is the link if you want to access this report on the city’s website.) This presentation is on YouTube and can be accessed here. The presentation begins approximately 15 seconds into the video. The audit report had always been given during the regular council business meeting until the mayor made the decision last year to have it in the work session without consulting the council. In moving this to the work session, it is not as transparent as having this presented during the regular council business meeting.
And here my council meeting vote:
Voted Yes - Ordinance 2025-07 rezone from neighborhood commercial to residential. This property is surrounded by residential properties. Concern was adding homes on a busy road with trash pickup. Planning commission mentioned property was to have shared driveways.
Voted Yes – Ordinance 2025-08 Revise business license ordinance. This is required by the state every 2 years (on the odd year). State mandate for this.
Voted Yes – Ordinance 2025-09 Conveyance of an easement across the Doodle Trail. There has been a driveway over this easement for many years so this just formalizes the use of the driveway.
Voted Yes – Ordinance 2025-10 Conveyance of a right-a-way maintenance agreement with Doodle Trail Properties. The area on both sides of the Doodle Trail will be maintained by the owners of the old Southern Weaving property.
Voted No – Resolution 2025-13 Accepting roads from Meadow Ridge Homeowners Association. The city does not maintain the roads we have, nor does it allocate money for road maintenance, such as resurfacing. There may be some money for ‘maintenance’ but it is filling a pothole. Why continue to take in roads when the city cannot (or will not) maintain them?
